I am always filled with gratitude when asked to build a special piece for a patron. Each commission presents an opportunity to share ideas about color, grain, dimensions, finish, design, etc., and is always an essential and thoughtful discussion. And while the planning for every commissioned piece includes decisions that are deeply personal and precious, perhaps there is no piece, which embodies these elements more than an urn.
